Detailed Analysis of HP Laptop – 15t touch with Intel i7
Laptop Outlook Design
The HP Laptop – 15t touch with Intel i7 has a very sleek and light-weight design. At the top, it is a bit flexible and that’s expected for a product at this price point.
It is Clean with just the HP logo in the middle of the top side. You can open it up with one hand as soon as you get at the top it’s kind of goes up a little bit but it is completely doable.
You do have a good selection of ports as it is engineered in such away. On the left-hand side, it has an RJ45 jack, HDMI, USB Type-C (Regular type-C with 5 Gigabytes of Data Transfer). On the right-hand side of the Laptop, it has a power connector, two USB slots, and a full-sized SD Card Slot.
One thing I will mention here is that there is a bit of wobble with the display. It is a nice way to express your personal style with Slim and Sleek designs crafted from noble materials.
If I will talk about the Integral Board Design the good thing is that all the standard stuff is not sorted on to the Motherboard of HP 15t Touch Intel i7. So, if you want to upgrade the RAM to 32 GB or more you can do it without any issue.
HP 15t Touch Intel i7 is engineered in such a way that, If you want to update the SSD to something bigger or faster you can do that without any expert assistance. It comes up with the 256 GB Intel SSD Memory and it actually gets really good speed.
The whole interior is somewhere look like a Pavilion blueprint which removes the capability of inserting a second drive. It has Wi-Fi Card and you can easily upgrade it to Wi-Fi 6 if you want to.
Inside the Laptop, you will find one Heat pipe and one Fan which is somewhere disappointing for such a nice laptop.
This HP Laptop has 15.6″ FHD Display with Touch screen feature. Whether you go for a base model which is 1366×768 Resolution or this one the 1920×1080 the SVA Wide LED Panel is not so good like Color Accuracy and Brightness is on the low end and very dim.
So if you are planning it for any kind of Design work, Video editing, or photo editing you need to hook it up with external monitor as you will not get accuracy with this Display. Although for daily use like watching videos or movies the Display is good.
Speakers and Webcam
The HP Laptop – 15t touch with Intel i7 comes up with the Dual Speakers with HP Boost Audio supported by Band & Olufsen.
The Speakers are forward-facing. They come through the Top Vent. The Speakers have a Pretty good sound like the hyzer, crispy and clean just the low end is non-existent.
On the top of the display, it has a 720p webcam and you know it is a budget Ultrabook so it looks just bad as every other webcam. Jokes aside but you can easily do the online meeting with such a webcam without any issue like a blur, buzzy, or something like that. All in all, it has an average Webcam.
Processor and Performance
The HP Laptop – 15t touch has an inbuilt i7 Processor and 16 GB DDR4 RAM which is undoubtfully one of the fastest and best combinations on the market.
Overall, it performs really well and has a fast speed to run any application. If we talk about the Mozilla Firefox Compile Test the MacBook PRO 13 (i5) does in 47 mins and on the second position the HP Laptop 15T does the same test in 66 mins. (See the Graph Below)
So all in all it is far better than other processors like Surface Laptop, Dell XPS, MacBook Air 2020. If you opt for MX 250 which costs an extra 90-100USD you can lower the settings down to medium and play at 1080p. With this setting, you can smoothly play games like Overwatch and you can get a good frame rate (80 FPS).
You have 2 different options to choose from the Operating system while buying it either you can install Windows 10 Home 64 bits or Windows 10 Pro 64 Bits. So, it has preinstalled the latest operating system which will allow you to do any task without any worry.
Battery and Heating
The battery is only 41 Watt per hour. Surprisingly it has pretty good battery life. It can easily run for 7 hours and 30 minutes with one full charge. You can use a Better Battery Mode with 30% Brightness and can easily run for long hours.
The heat management is kind of interesting. If you are just blasting the CPU to its full potential that is 100% it does well. It will hover over 2.2GHz which is over the base clock and the CPU temperature will stay around 70-80 Degree Celsius at the top end.
As soon as you will start Blasting the GPU and CPU together to their full potential that’s when the thing starts to thermal throttle. Like GPU= 100% CPU= 100% then the average Clock Speed will be at 1.2GHZ
If you are playing games and you are just using the CPU or going back and forth to CPU and GPU in a certain condition the Laptop holds up the heat management very Well.
So, all in all, it’s upon your usage how you will manage the heating system in HP 15T Laptop.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard of this Laptop is really nice and very interesting. It has very soft keys and the spacing between the keys is perfect. It is very comfortable to type on as it is a Full-sized keyboard with Numpad separately available.
Unfortunately, the keyboard has no backlighting which is another area to cut back to or in order to reduce the manufacturing cost of this product. The touchpad has a good size.
I personally don’t like the click buttons. I would have loved a bigger touchpad with inbuilt click buttons. The touchpad is made up of plastic but for being a plastic touchpad it is accurate.
Alright so here is the thing a lot of corners were obviously cut to get the price at this point. But the one thing that HP did a very good job on is Performance.
Whether you are playing games or doing something productive like Editing, Mixing, etc. the Laptop is able to handle it. I also like its integral board that how simple it is to change the Wi-Fi Card, installing bigger Drive, or even upgrading the RAM.
Yes, the Display is not that accurate, the keyboard is soft, the sound is mediocre and the overall quality is nothing to talk about. If you are on a budget and looking for great performance value than The HP Laptop – 15t touch with Intel i7 is the Best Option to go for. Read More About HP 15 AMD Ryzen 3 15.6 inch Laptop Review
